Welcome

Thanks for stopping by, I'm Nicole Klingler... a wife, mother, dancer, artistic director and photographer. I shoot in various cities in Idaho including Rigby, Rexburg, Idaho Falls, and Boise, as well as Salt Lake City and other northern Utah cities! My photographic style is RICH, TRUE, ORGANIC and HONEST.... with the intent of capturing my subject's personalities... the essence of who they are and what drives them! My specialties lie in individual portraiture: children, seniors, modeling portfolios, and brides- with an emphasis in fashion and editorial style, as well as engagements, formals, and weddings. Stay and browse awhile, or give me a call to set up your own session. Lets see what magic we can create together! (all session and product pricing can be found on the menu bar)

Schedule Update

Sorry for the delay, but because of the busy holiday season, Dip and Dabble Preschool photos will be in the online client gallery on Wednesday Dec. 29th. Thanks for your patience!

In other news, Nicole Klingler Photography has a NEW name, brand and website. Continue to follow me at www.trueatelier.com.

What to wear for FAMILY PORTRAITS! {Eastern Idaho Family Portrait Photographer}

Allright, so you have a photoshoot coming up and you are wondering what to wear!?!
THE OUTFIT IS TRULY IMPORTANT! :-)
*
The wardrobe you choose can either ENHANCE your photo, or break it (REALLY)!
Here are a few suggestions that may give you some guidance when choosing a wardrobe for your family.

1.
Having everyone match EXACTLY is lacking in visual appeal.
Try to COORDINATE your outfits, NOT MATCH THEM.
Perhaps you are going for a summertime look, so you are going to stick with denims, brown leather (in sandals, boots, belts, suspenders, band on hat, etc) and for colors,  blues, greens and yellows! Just look for outfits for family members that have those elements and qualifications, lay them out together and check out the overall look!

2.
FORGET LOGOS!
Remember not to have LOGOS on your clothing! Logos and wording draw your eye and are very distracting.
(and are too cumbersome to remove in photoshop!)

3.
USE TEXTURE!!!!
Texture is EVER SO APPEALING:
Try to mix up outfits with textures. Denim, meets linen, meets cableknit, meets wool, meets rattan. Combine all those in an outfit (or others, you get the idea!) and you will have a seriously rocking outfit!

4.
BRING ON THE LAYERS!
This goes along with textures!
You can accomplish a combination of textures with LAYERS! Here is an example, pair denim pants with a linen top, a wool scarf, leather boots and a cordoroy hat!
Also, add layers like leggings, pettiskirts, ruffles UNDER skirts, ties, scarfs, jackets, etc. These ADD INTEREST and when added or removed, give you a WHOLE NEW LOOK for you photo without changing your outfit!

5.
LOOK FOR IDEAS!
Check out your favorite stores websites and the display pages will show you COORDINATING outfits that look great together! That gives you FABULOUS ideas!!!!

6.
COORDINATE WITH ME!!!!
FINALLY (this is IMPORTANT!)
DO (please) let me know what you have chosen for you outfit, or let me help by giving you suggestions. Your wardrobe and your LOCATION often go hand in hand (as far as styling) so that will help me take you to the BEST POSSIBLE SPOT, so your photos can be as stunning as possible!!!!!
